Cooperative Month Celebration Commenced!
Mother Rita MPC joins the nation in the celebration of National Cooperative Month
In a spirited celebration, Mother Rita Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC) commemorated National Cooperative Month alongside its Main Office's 17th year anniversary last October 4, 2024. The event took place in the cooperative's Audio Visual Room in Lauis, Candelaria, bringing together members and community stakeholders to honor nearly two decades of service and cooperation.
National Cooperative Month is celebrated every October to recognize the vital contributions of cooperatives to economic development and social welfare. This year’s theme, “Cooperatives: Stronger Together Today for a Brighter Tomorrow,” emphasizes the strength and unity of cooperatives in building sustainable communities.
The festivities began with an energetic morning motorcade, featuring members of Mother Rita MPC and local residents, all showcasing their commitment to cooperative values. Following the parade, attendees gathered for a heartfelt thanksgiving mass, reflecting on the cooperative’s journey and its impact on the community.
In a collaborative effort with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the cooperative hosted the BSP Piso Caravan, aimed at promoting financial literacy and responsible money management. The event also marked the official launch of the cooperative month celebration, along with a presentation of BSP's “Know Your Money” program.
Mr. Mark Jason A. Cagalingan, Deputy Director of the BSP Pampanga branch, led the team as Ms. Ma. Lourdes Laconsay presented the “Know Your Money” program. She shared important tips on how to validate money to ensure it can be exchanged during the PISO Caravan. Ms. Michelle Anne Sicat and Mr. Francis Renier Banting also supported the session with their expertise.
The celebration concluded with a special address from Ms. Rowena Pastor, the invited speaker for the anniversary event. Her inspiring message underscored the achievements of Mother Rita MPC and highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation in reaching common goals.
As a proud Currency Exchange Partner with the BSP, Mother Rita MPC is committed to promoting financial inclusivity and literacy among its members. A highlight of the event was the pledge of commitment, marking the official start of Mother Rita MPC’s role as a Currency Exchange Partner (CEP) of BSP. The cooperative looks forward to continuing its mission of uplifting the community through education, support, and sustainable practices.
With a spirit of celebration and a strong commitment to cooperation, Mother Rita MPC is excited to embark on another successful year, enhancing its role as a vital support system for its members and the greater community.
